Reps’ call for Emefiele Sack is politically motivated
The Arewa Consultative Youth Movement (ACYM) has condemned the House of Representatives for its attack on the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Godwin Emefiele.
The group, in a statement Thursday by its chairman, Kabiru Yusuf, noted that the House resolution asking President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Emefiele was politically motivated.
The statement reads: “We have in the past drawn the attention of Nigerians to orchestrated plans by certain groups and individuals to continue to discredit Emefiele and President Buhari.
“The idea behind this game plan is to attack the various economic reforms implemented by this administration, through the CBN led by Emefiele.
“Those behind these attacks are the ones who mean no good for the country and can do anything to bring Nigeria back to the bad old days just to do what they want.
“Unfortunately, these greedy people have found support among federal legislators who are supposedly busy making laws that will benefit the country and its citizens.
“We urge them to quickly retrace their steps or we will have no choice but to expose them for who they are.”
