College football bowl projections for championship week: Michigan and Notre Dame move to CFP

The conference championship weekend has arrived.

The final standings for the college football qualifiers will be unveiled on Sunday and several intriguing scenarios are on offer for the final week. Georgia appear to be the only safe bet heading into the SEC Championship game, and we still have the Bulldogs beating Alabama on Saturday.

Michigan also enters our projection after finally beating Ohio State. The Wolverines can clinch their first place in the playoffs with a win over Iowa on Saturday.

Cincinnati will be the first Group-5 team to make the playoffs if they beat Houston in the American Athletic Conference Championship game. (We believe it is, anyway). That leaves a fourth place finish and debate between Notre Dame, Oklahoma State whether it wins the Big 12 championship game and a potential two-game losing streak in Alabama. We think the Irish are winning this debate by a small margin.
